The Best Setting Powder Ever
Laura Mercier is a world renowned French makeup artist best known for her line of tinted moisturizers. But her setting powder has quickly gained holy grail cult status over the past couple of years.
I picked up the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder at Sephora. I don't usually wear a full face of foundation and concealer on a daily basis, so I wasn't looking for something to specifically set my makeup (but it's definitely a plus). I was looking for a light product to reduce shine, blur imperfections, and create a soft brightening finish for my skin.
This powder is super finely milled with 'French cashmere' talc. It feels silky smooth on the skin. There's no chalkiness, no powdery finish, and no cakeyness. It doesn't settle into creases around my eyes and mouth. The translucent shade has the slightest yellow undertone and should work with most skin tones. I can get 6-8 hours of wear out of this powder, which is great for the workday.
It's definitely a splurge at $38 a jar, but the fine texture and quality of the powder is worth not looking like a cake face. Let me know if you give this a try!
