Full Face: NARS
Today, I'm wearing a full face of NARS; the most high-end, luxurious cosmetics I own. They're absolutely incredible. Stellar, vibrant colors, a wide range of foundation shades, and the quality is perfection. While many cosmetic lines aspire to give women a "naturally enhanced version of yourself" look, I see NARS as being much more editorial, high fashion, and all about the artistry of cosmetics. I enjoy using NARS for both purposes. I love the foundations and bronzers for a natural lit from within glow, and adore playing around with their lip colors and blushes for a striking, bold look.
NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30
$45, St. Moritz Medium 1 (medium with a neutral yellow undertone)
This is a new product launch for NARS. Healthy glowy finish, and a light coverage you can still see your freckles through. Mine peeked through a little today as I was in the sun a lot! I love this product because it is the perfect in-between for a tinted moisturizer and a traditional foundation. It's totally weightless on the skin, and leaves a soft velvety finish. NARS perfected the sunscreen in this product, because it never smells or feels chalky like a regular sunscreen.
NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer
Lord knows I love a gooood bronzer. NARS' all time most popular powder bronzer, called Laguna, actually does not work for me. While the shade works amazingly for paler skin tones, leaves them looking sun-kissed and not muddy, it just looks funny on me. Maybe too close to my natural skin tone. BUT THIS...I'm convinced this liquid gold is a tad darker and yellower than the original power. You only need two or three drops of this silky formula, and it blends beautifully with just your fingers around the face. I've used it mixed with moisturizer alone to give an all-over sheer glow, and I've concentrated in more in the hollows of my cheeks for a contoured look.
$30, Luster (sheer golden apricot)
Aw! This was my first blush from NARS. This soft apricot shade totally suits my skin tone and those with deeper skin tones. It has tiny golden flecks of shimmer in it, so it looks beautiful under soft evening light. This shade always brings back memories for me of wearing it at certain occasions. That is one of the many truths I love about makeup; how sentimental it can be.
NARS Satin Lip Pencil
$27, Golshan (black cherry)
This is my perfect red. I can build up the color for a bold winey lip, or I can lightly dab it on for a flushed tint. The formula is gorgeous, creamy, satiny, glides on lovely. It never settles into lines or fades, and is quite hydrating!
